The Hirschwald Nature Park has an extensive network of trails. Paths are well maintained throughout. Regular repair work contributes to this. At the start of Track I, you can enjoy the wonderful view of the Vils valley before you hit the gravel track. The pilgrimage chapel of the 14 emergency helpers is also worth a visit. At the end of the track, just before Schmidmühlen, the route is less busy. This makes this section of the route a little more challenging, especially for beginners. On gravel and natural surfaces through Franconian Switzerland: off-road route in Bavaria

At 27 kilometers, the off-road route in Bavaria "Through Franconian Switzerland" is the longest that we would like to briefly introduce to you here. The route in Franconia is suitable for motorcycles, off-road vehicles, 4x4 campers and 4x4 trucks. On your journey, a combination of paved country roads, through-town roads, gravel roads and nature trails provide plenty of variety. The first section of the route takes you from the Hufeisen wildlife enclosure to the Weidensee highway junction on the A9. This section is very good and sufficiently wide.

Further on, you ride downhill on a gravel path and cross the Klumperbach stream. The path climbs again in a few bends. On the way, you will pass the "Am Stachus" hiking parking lot, which is very busy at weekends. This is why you should expect increased excursion traffic on this off-road route in Bavaria at weekends, and not just because of the wild animal enclosure.

After the junction in Willenreuth, the route descends again on a narrow tarred strip. The next ascent is on a gravel road. The various Stations of the Cross are depicted on the right of the path as so-called Marterl (small religious wayside shrines or memorials). In Kosbrunn, the route continues on asphalt. At the top of the hill, it becomes an easy gravel path. The route offers you a beautiful view of the small Klum again and again.
