Coarse, loose gravel on top of even coarser, loose gravel – a fair distance with no chance of veering off the track. Make sure you take plenty of food and drink with you! The term ‘difficult’ is certainly justified given the length of the track and its nature; however, there are no critical sections or anything of the sort. As mentioned, you do need to ride with intense concentration for a relatively long time.

The ideal route for reaching the Komovi Nature Park. The route is now entirely tarmacked and there is absolutely no off-road section. Drive carefully: despite the brand-new tarmac surface, large stones and patches of mud occasionally appear around the sometimes tight bends, which can become slippery when wet.

This year, the track has been tarmacked right up to the summit. The route is nonetheless highly recommended and absolutely stunning; the final 10–15 km (descent) are currently still unpaved, but in excellent condition and, apart from a few narrow sections (campervans?), perfectly passable. The difficulty level for motorcyclists with some experience can now be classified as easy.

The route is cool, but definitely challenging for a touring enduro (mine weighs “only” about 195 kg with a full tank and luggage)! I rode it from east to west, so I ended up at the lake. It wasn’t easy, but it’s doable if you’re experienced. The other way around—starting from the lake—I definitely wouldn’t recommend it for touring enduros! In that direction, you’re riding uphill through sections that are sometimes extremely rocky and steep, which, in my opinion, is significantly more difficult than going downhill. So think it through carefully—and definitely don’t go alone.
