Passo Dosso Alto

From Anfo, the route leads over or just past a few other passes, including the 1406-metre-high Passo del Baremone and the Passo della Spina at 1525 metres, before the final climb climbs up to 1725 metres. The mountain road used in this way, which is only partly asphalted, is one of the scenic highlights of the Lombardic Alps. It ends on the 1664-meter-high Giogo del Maniva. The route is richly varied and also challenging. First, the single-lane asphalt road climbs up the slope in several, sometimes narrow hairpin bends to a refugio. The following piece runs at an altitude through a beautiful mountain forest.

Be careful, this section can be slippery due to moss on the road and also has some large potholes. 

Passo della Spina is followed by the challenging treat of the route: three natural tunnels and extremely exposed passages affected by rockfall, through a steep limestone rock slope, have to be mastered. This is also where the gravel road begins. Edge protection is non-existent. Shortly before the top of the Passo Dosso Alto, the route leads – then again on tarmac – through a lovely alpine pasture. After the top of the pass, the road, which is gravel again in parts, also runs very exposed to Giogo Maniva. In dry conditions, the route is also feasible for experienced hikers with a street motorcycle or normal car.
