Monte Terza Grande

This 10 km tour with steep challenging sections takes you through a stunning Venetian-Friulian Alps chain close to Austria. Below Campolongo on the SP 465 to the SR 355 near Sappada. 

From Campolongo, take the winding SP 465 along the Frison river, first over a tarmac surface, which then turns into a gravel road. After crossing an iron bridge, you reach the entry point of the slope. The first part leads very steeply uphill through the forest into the beautiful mountains. Arriving on a plateau at Passo della Digola, you will be rewarded with beautiful panoramic views of the imposing Monte Terza Grande and the surrounding peaks. After the pass, the track leads downhill. Through the beautiful coniferous forest with some picnic benches down to the river Piave. This tour ends in the village of Sappada on the SR 355. Bars and restaurants directly on the river invite you to take a break afterwards, surrounded by the great mountain scenery.
