There's a "No Entry" sign about halfway along the route. But the parking lot at Malga Promosio was almost completely full... A beautiful hike.....

Grigio Carnico
Not far from the Austrian border, this 15 km long spur route leads comfortably up into the mountains. A quarry worth seeing and the Refugio Promosio are the destination.
The start of the tour is at Cluelis on the SS 52 south of Timau. Here a small tarred road leads through the last groups of houses in the village. Until the easily passable gravel road, which winds through the forest in the first section, begins. Over many beautiful hairpin bends and past picnic benches, you reach the large alpine pasture with plenty of parking spaces. The well-kept Malga Promosio is located on a plateau. A magnificent panoramic view of the peaks and the paths that wind along the green mountain slopes through groups of trees await you. From here you can reach many picnic areas located by a beautiful stream and look at the legendary quarry, the bright angular stone wall shines on the mountain. A few houses are nestled on the slopes in this beautiful alpine nature. The same path leads downhill back into the valley.
