This 16 km scenic route takes you into a picturesque valley, climbing up to a chapel, along riverbanks, and through the endless mountain peaks of the French Alps.

Starting from Embrun, take the D 40 to Les Ribes to reach the starting point of the tour. From here, follow the gravel track as it leads you into a beautiful basin. Initially, the route runs parallel to the Torrent des Vacheres river, winding through the forest. It then continues uphill through meadows. The detour ends at the small Chapelle Saint Pierre, surrounded by lush alpine meadows with several picnic benches inviting a break. Enjoy peaceful views of the mountain peaks and pine forests in the tranquility of the alpine nature.
On the return leg, the track descends steeply for a short while, with a turn leading to a bridge over the river. On the other side, follow the track along the mountain slope. A viewpoint along the way provides an opportunity for a stop. The final section offers breathtaking mountain panoramas until you reach the village of Les Orres on the D 40, where the tour ends.
