The route from Andorra is currently still closed. The road to the starting point is closed; there is still snow on the last few kilometers. It will likely open in the coming days once everything has thawed. There is so much snow at the barrier to the track that only motorcycles can get through. We encountered motorcycles coming from Spain.

Smuggler's route across the green border
It is a classic off-road track in the Pyrenees and leads west from Andorra to Spain. It used to be a smuggler's route, but today it's a playground for gravel fans. Although there is still a lot of smuggling going on, as Andorra is not an EU member and customs duties would actually be due on the incredibly cheap fuel, tobacco and alcohol. Actually.
With a full tank and, depending on your cravings, with liquor or cigarettes in your luggage, you start in the lively ski resort of La Massana. The CG-4 road winds uphill in perfect curves and bends and quickly reaches the country's border. Then the off-road fun begins. Narrow gravel track, great views, no trace of civilization - every off-road driver dreams of this. The track winds downhill in many serpentines and throws a pothole, a washed-out gully or even a ford in front of your wheels. So, despite the views, always keep an eye on the route. It gradually turns into a dirt track, which can be quite tricky when wet. This is probably why the smugglers' route is prohibited in bad weather.
The route continues downhill past the tiny mountain village of Tor, and after ten off-road kilometers the wheels roll back onto asphalt. This follows the course of the Noguera de Tor stream and meets road 510 and the town of Alins in the valley.
