Road closed between Rialp and Coll de la Porta
Creu d Eixol
It is called Montsent de Pallars, is 2,883 meters high and gives its name to a mountain range west of Andorra. Several off-road tracks conquer this area and are extremely popular with motorcyclists and car drivers because of their driving and scenic appeal. So you have to share the tracks on the eastern slope of Montsent de Pallars with your colleagues, especially at the weekend.
The starting point for the first route is the town of Rialp on road no. 13 in the valley of the Noguero River, the destination is Espot in the valley of the Riu Escrita. In between, there are almost 30 off-road kilometers of the finest. First, it goes on winding, narrow asphalt from Rialp up to the mountain village of Caregue at an altitude of 1,165 meters. Once you have left its narrow streets behind you, the first gravel stones crackle under your tires. Off-roading gets going straight away: a narrow, rough track with washouts winds up the steep slope in some tight switchbacks. A handful of final hairpin bends and you reach the highest point of the route at 2,264 meters. Above the tree line, you then continue along the eastern slope of the Montsent de Pallars with magnificent views, white mountain peaks as far as the eye can see.
One last "high point" at the Creu d'Eixol (2,231 m), then the track - now wide again and in good condition - circles down to a ski area. At the valley station, the gravel turns into asphalt, and two kilometers further on you have reached Espot.
