Coll de Jovell
On the southern foothills of the Serra del Cadí, a kind of all-round carefree package awaits fans of well-maintained off-road tours. Wide road, fine gravel, endless curves and bends, great views, a beautiful landscape, no nasty surprises. We are talking about the cross-connection from the valley of the Riu el Lobregat to the west to the Rio Segre. Almost 14 kilometers of pure driving pleasure.
The approach is on the B-400, then on the C-563 via Saldes. At the level of the village of Josa de Cadí, the gravel road branches off to the right. First on an open area, later in the forest, it winds its way up the slope in impeccable curves and bends. Beautiful view down to Josa de Cadí. The Coll de Jovell is quickly reached, where a break is taken at the hikers' car park at an altitude of 1,794 meters. Because today's motto is: take it easy. In the Cadí-Moixeró Nature Park, the speed limit is 30 km/h anyway. So relax.
The downhill section is just as much fun as the uphill section. Wide track, fine gravel, curves and bends galore. Far too soon, the roofs of Cornellana come into view below us. From there, it is another 30 kilometers of country road to La Seu d’Urgell.
