Coll d´Ares
A passable gravel road, beautiful views and a lot of perfect serpentines - these are the ingredients of this off-road cocktail that leads from Organyà out of the Segre valley to the east into the mountains of the foothills of the Pyrenees. Again and again, the route crosses smaller passes, which provides the necessary amount of variety.
Via Figols, you reach the hamlet of Romanins on asphalt, where the off-road section begins. On a perfectly graveled track, it circles up the bare slope, presents several great views and rushes through several pretty high alpine pastures. At 1,470 meters, it reaches its preliminary high point and then passes the charming Mirador de Colldeu viewpoint. At 1,650 meters, the route finally passes the Coll d'Ares as its high point. The descent down to the village of Ossera is short and jagged. There, the gravel ends and the asphalt begins.
