A beautiful tour along easy gravel and dirt roads with great views.
Chapel Eremita St. Martin
Between the two reservoirs Barasona and El Grado there is a mountain ridge that ranges from 450 to 1,150 meters in altitude. Several tracks cross it, one or the other of which can be combined to form a hearty, not too difficult off-road tour. The highlight in the truest sense of the word is a lookout point with a great view down to the El Grado reservoir.
It starts at the northern end of Graus, where a gravel road turns west. Medium-sized stones rattle under the wheels, slowly but surely it goes uphill. The panoramas back to the Barasona reservoir alternate. A fork appears. We take the right path and after four kilometers and 100 meters in altitude we end up at the lookout point of the St. Martin chapel. Or what is left of it. Now the El Grado reservoir is below us, a view that is something special.
Back at the junction, we continue straight on, passing fertile orchards and finally entering Secastilla. From here, it is about eight kilometers of asphalt back to the Barasona reservoir.
