Santa Brigida
If you come down to Amer from the Collet de Sant Martí, you can continue on with a short and picturesque half-day tour to the Serra de Llobera. It takes place on a well-maintained gravel track, which is mostly used by hikers and paragliders. So it's easy, even with large trucks.
At the southern end of Amer, at a height of 180 meters, a small road branches off to the east, which we follow for about two and a half kilometers to a fork. There we take the left turn onto the aforementioned track and leave the hamlet of Sant Climent d'Amer on the right. The route now takes on the western slope of the Serra de Llobera and climbs on wide, fine gravel, first on open terrain and later through the forest to a height of 488 meters. A handful of switchbacks then meander down the mountainside, where the Santa Barocca chapel stands in an idyllic open space. The perfect place for a picnic.
Just behind the chapel, the route branches off to the left and curves uphill towards the destination of this excursion - the church of Santa Brigida. It stands on the edge of a steep cliff with a great view and is often used by paragliders as a launching point. A spring provides fresh water and is the icing on the cake of this perfect resting place.
