Do you enjoy beautiful views, immense vistas, total panoramic views? Then head to the Mirador de la Figuerassa. It is located west of the Pantà de la Baells reservoir at an altitude of almost 1,500 meters and offers a panorama that is unparalleled even in the Pyrenees, which are well-supplied in this regard.

Start in Berga. The town of 16,000 inhabitants is located 700 meters southwest of the reservoir and was founded long before the birth of Christ by the Iberian Bergistani tribe. In May 2012, Berga hit the headlines because it declared King Juan Carlos persona non grata. He had undertaken a luxurious elephant hunt in Africa in the middle of the deepest Spanish recession. Not to mention the aspect of animal welfare...

From Berga, drive towards the Restaurant de la Font Negra on the BV-4243 road a little way up the slope and turn off onto a track at the sign for the Mirador. It is designed so that it can also be driven on with a normal car. So easy going. Wide and covered with fine gravel, it initially moves along the mountain and then, via a few sharp hairpin bends, reaches the turnoff to the Mirador. From there, the road continues with many serpentines and after just under three kilometers you are standing on the circular platform of the viewing point. In the evening at sunset, the colors and atmosphere are particularly beautiful. If you are lucky, you can even see the peaks of the Montserrat mountains on the horizon, while the Baells reservoir reflects in the valley.

The main track now continues west, first uphill for a while, then downhill, where it meets the BV-4243 at Espinalbet. There, turn left back to Berga.
