At the top of Coll del Pal, there is a wide concrete barrier with a chain stretched across it and a sign stating that the road is open only to forestry vehicles and that a fine of €300 will be imposed for violations. I wanted to drive down the route from the top to Alp. However, the paved access road to the Coll coming from Baga is absolutely worth it for the view on the winding road leading up. The rangers patrol here in Land Cruisers, just like in the Western Alps, and they definitely issue fines if you get caught—I know this because I spoke with some of them.

To the Col de Pal
The Masella ski area is located in the Catalan Pyrenees and offers a spectacular mountain for skiing and viewing with its highest peak, the 2,536-meter-high La Tosa d’Alp. Together with the Molina ski circus to the east, this results in 27 lifts and 130 kilometers of slopes. Great for skiers. And for us off-roaders. Because we benefit from the numerous maintenance slopes that lead up to the lifts.
For example, on the following tour: The start is from Alp on the road up to the ski area (signposted). Three sharp bends weave out of Alp, in the third we turn left onto a forest and meadow path. It winds its way up the mountain, briefly touches the road coming from Masella and quickly gains altitude past lift stations, parking lots and under chairlifts. It ignores the turnoff to Super Molina on the left, then climbs the steep slope of the Coll de Pal in a final spurt. The cable car ends at the summit station at 2,100 meters. Turn off the engine, take off your helmet, open your eyes and ears. And enjoy the peace and the panoramic view up here. Then it's down to the valley on asphalt to Gréixer.

No roadblock or sign at the end of August. I drove down (4024) to Masella. Steep and partially washed out. Be careful at the end of the paved road: there’s a high step to weed out the cars ;)
