Through the mountains to Sebrelje
The Idrijca is a river that rises in the Slovenian Karst Mountains near Vojsko. It then flows through the town of Idrija and goes into the Soča after 60 kilometers near Tolmin. On its winding path through the mountains, the Idrijca makes one or two daring loops, for example at the height of the town of Šebrelje. This loop can be shortened in an interesting way by taking an off-road track. A steep asphalt driveway winds its way up to a plateau, crosses it on a gravel track and then plunges into the valley again, winding and asphalted. All in all, a varied affair and above all something for motorcyclists who love curves.
The start: Turn off road no. 102 in the town of Straža, cross the Idrijca and follow the sign to Jagršče. The asphalt road winds its way uphill. The track begins about half a kilometer behind Jagršče. It is narrow, but easy to ride. Fine to medium-sized gravel, all well maintained. It continues along a mountain ridge at a constant height. The track passes the Lovski dom hut, which is a perfect place to take a break, and then turns back into an asphalt road, peppered with switchbacks, winding down over Šebrelje into the valley.
