Tip from the Xplore crew by Peter Schmitz: On the way to Istria you should definitely take the track with you to "warm up".

The approximately 24 km long tour from Gorenja Trebuša to Idrijska Bela leads mainly through forest areas. Interrupted by clearings and scattered settlements.

The start of the tour is in Gorenja Trebuša. You soon reach the first gravel section, around 9 km long. The landscape alternates between forest and clearings with farms, later the track runs mainly through the forest. After a clearing and two bends you come to the Idrija, which runs alongside the route to the destination in Idrijska Bela. Shortly before the town you cross the Idrija and just behind the bridge there is a bathing area with picnic areas and a kiosk. From here it is just under 8 km to the town of Idrija on the 102.

Conditions, closures and tips — from members who drove here recently.

We were coming from the direction of Tolmin.
There’s a height restriction of 3.0 m here… only God knows why. There’s no apparent reason for this restriction.
There is also a restriction on 8-ton axle load.
I passed two timber trucks carrying logs that were quite a bit heavier.
That’s quite heartwarming on the narrow switchbacks.
Whether you choose to heed these restrictions is up to you.
Our vehicle is 2.5 m wide, 6.2 m long, and 3.5 m high.
I don’t see any problems here for vehicles up to 7.5 m in length.

Have fun, and always keep a hand’s breadth of clearance under the diff
