The so-called "Hermann Road" in southern Slovenia, whose name dates back to 1896, runs along the foot of the Snežnik mountain, whose peak rises to 1,796 meters. This mountain is part of the extensive limestone plateau in the Slovenian Karst. The narrow natural road is only paved in residential areas. It is important to note that bus traffic is possible on this relatively easy to drive but sometimes narrow route. The striking name "Hermann Road" was not chosen arbitrarily, but marks a small monument carved in stone at the side of the road.

The forested surroundings offer limited views and are perfect for beginners in off-road driving.

Easy gravel road. In the surrounding area, there are endless gravel forest roads on both the Croatian and Slovenian sides.
