At 1782 metres, the Stuhleck is the highest mountain in the Fischbach Alps in Styria. Offroad travellers can ride up to it from the Pfaffensattel, but they should definitely bring some gravel experience with them. The summit road is not tarmac, but is generally in good condition and should pose little difficulty for experienced bikers, even with a pillion. It is a four-kilometre private road, for which a toll must be paid (€ 3 for motorbikes, € 5 for cars up to 3.5 t / as of 2024). Incidentally, this is only payable after the ride at the Alois-Günther-Haus on the summit.
The road is only accessible during the hut's opening hours in summer. Current information can be found on the website www. aloisguentherhaus.at. The operator asks that you neither stop nor park on the road itself. He has created a large car park for resting at the top and also offers culinary delights in his hut.
