Nice gravel road, easy to drive on even when wet

Zollner Plateau
This easy 28 km tour leads near Kötschbach, located on the B 111, up to the Zollnersee Hut. You can expect wonderful panoramic views of the Gaital valley, beautiful alpine pastures and a short detour to Lake Zollner.
The starting point is the village of Weidenburg on the L 21 country road. From here, the route follows a small tarmac road past Weidenburg Castle with its large main building and natural stone ruins. A narrow road leads uphill towards Grazhof, where the gravel section begins. The trail winds its way uphill through the forest. There is a picnic bench with a fountain at the side of the trail. As you leave the forest, you will be rewarded with magnificent views of the valley and the mountains. The next section leads straight along a ridge. You will reach the Rosserhütte, an idyllic organic farm where you can stop for a bite to eat and relax in the beautiful mountain scenery. The popular Zollnersee Hut comes into view shortly afterwards. A small footpath leads from here to the Zollnersee lake. Nestled in lush alpine vegetation and surrounded by grazing animals, you can enjoy the peace and quiet in the magnificent mountain panorama.
