An idyllic alpine pasture is the destination of this 27 km long tour. The magnificent view of the imposing peak of the Torkofel and a beautiful panoramic trail with sweeping views are impressive.

The first part of the route leads from Sankt Daniel on the B 111 along a tarred road uphill through a wood to the village of Goldberg. From the Maar holiday home, a hiking trail takes you to the ruins of Goldstein Castle, with the remains of walls on a rock hidden in the forest. There is a beautiful viewpoint at the small Goldberg chapel. Not far from the chapel, a wide, well-trodden gravel path begins. It leads through the forest again, winding its way uphill. There are picnic benches along the way, where you can enjoy wonderful views of the valley. After the forest, you reach a cosy alpine hut typical of the region, surrounded by flowering alpine meadows and cow pastures. A gravel path with some rougher sections leads from here to a beautiful plateau with another fantastic view of the Torkofel peak and the Alpine valleys. A little further on, you reach a small mountain lake in completely unspoilt nature and the end of this tour.

TIME RESTRICTION: From Goldberg closed to general traffic except 1.6 to 1.9.

Conditions, closures and tips — from members who drove here recently.

Assuming the route would be closed from June 1 to September 1, I wanted to drive it today. However, starting at Goldberg, there was a sign reading "No entry except from June 1 to September 30," and the barrier was down. Apparently, there must have been a misunderstanding, or the rules have changed. As of April 2025, the route is only open to traffic from June 1 to September 30; otherwise, a driving ban is in effect.

It is a beautiful gravel road suitable for cars and motorcycles. However, please be aware that there are grazing animals along the way. Depending on the season, they can be very unpredictable, especially when there are young animals and calves in the herd.

Unfortunately, only the paved section is open to traffic. The rest is closed during the summer.
