The Semolj Pass is a 1,540 m high saddle on a mountain road that connects the Tušvya valley with the Morača valley. The tunnel that was opened in 1975 has significantly reduced the volume of traffic over the pass, which is beneficial to its remoteness and beauty. Fortunately, this means that we will be able to enjoy a great piece of nature for a long time to come.
The Semolj Pass is the destination of an off-road tour that begins on the M 6 between Šavnik and Nikšić, crosses a lonely, barren plateau and finally ends at the pass above the Semolj Tunnel. The level of difficulty is average, with most of the route being on medium to coarse gravel. There are no major inclines or declines to be expected, nor are there any narrow passages. This means that off-roaders can concentrate entirely on the fascination of this rugged landscape and the fun of driving.
18 kilometers south of Šavnik, at an altitude of 1,500 meters, a small tarmac road branches off in a curve to the east, which you follow for about four kilometers. Then the gravel section of the tour begins. You curve easily on the wide, harmless track between green meadows and hills on which nature has painted gray spots of limestone. Farmsteads are scattered across the plateau, farm animals roam freely. The last few kilometers down to the R 21 road are on asphalt. Once you reach the bottom, turn left and after a few hundred meters you will reach the saddle of the Semolj Pass.

Closure or obstruction

This road is closed due to a massive landslide. It's a rough road, not in great shape. I recommend asking locals for advice. I would do this for all roads in the area!

A sensational track! It’s not difficult, but the huge puddles and very rough scree keep it from getting boring. The landscape is incredible and, despite its barrenness, very diverse. Ancient Templar graves at incredible heights, right along the side of the road! Friendly locals spontaneously offer raki! The track is breathtaking and highly recommended.
