From National Park to Trešnjevik-Pass
It was first called Jezerine, then Bjelasica, and since 2019, it has been officially known as Kolašin 1600. Opened in 1991, this ski area is now the largest and most modern in Montenegro. Several lifts, including a new six-seater chairlift, provide access to around 40 slopes of varying difficulty levels. As Kolašin 1600 is easily accessible from the town of Kolašin via an asphalt road, it is a popular destination for hiking and excursions even in summer.
The station serves as the starting point for a tour that connects directly to the previously described “Biogradska Gora National Park” route. From here, you ascend the switchbacks to Vranjak and then turn right about a kilometer above this hamlet onto a wide, easygoing track. Passing a hiking hut, the route winds mostly through dense forest at an altitude of around 1,700 meters, weaving between gentle mountains and hills. Occasionally, the forest opens up, offering views from a ridge or across an alpine meadow. The gravel surface is in excellent condition and easy to drive.
At the end, a handful of switchbacks descend to the Trešnjevik Pass. Situated in solitude at 1,565 meters above sea level along the R19 road, the pass offers magnificent views of the Komovi mountain range.
