Toward the end of the track, there’s a small concrete bridge that didn’t look very sturdy. Still, it held up under our 2-metric-ton Landy 😉. Not really recommended for heavier vehicles. Also: low-hanging branches in some places.

At Otuča
This relaxed tour takes you 9 km through idyllic, rocky landscapes with herds of donkeys, a few typical farmhouses, over hills and through the magical forest.
The entry point of the route is on the D1 between the towns of Bruvno and Deringaj. First, it goes on a gravel road with turf over fields and wide meadows. You cross the Otuca river on a wooden bridge, then follow the route past small groups of trees. It goes straight uphill along the rocky slopes. Panoramic views of the beautiful Croatian mountains and the lushly covered peaks await you. Stony ground and some washouts can be found on the next section of the route. After a flat area, it goes downhill through the forest and across wide clearings. You pass a hunting stand. The route continues through dense forest on bumpy ground until the tour ends after a small tarmac section on a narrow road. This leads in a winding path towards Deringaj, back to the D1. After the trip, you can take a detour to Jezero Ricice, at the foot of the Velebit. The shore of the beautiful, shallow lake can be reached via small hiking trails.
