A beautiful, long, not-too-difficult trail with no tricky sections; it features all kinds of terrain, from rock and stone to gravel and dirt. I started from Trnovac, and at the end of the loop, just before the road, there’s a nice spot to take a break and enjoy the view (see photo).

Kuća Sveti Josip
The tour takes you 23 km up into the pristine hilly landscape through a fairytale forest to a rustic mountain hut. Above the beautiful Croatian coastal area.
The D 25 takes you from the coastal town of Karlobag uphill in serpentines to the starting point of the route at Baske Ostarije. A narrow tarmac road winds its way uphill through the forest. It leads onto a gravel track that is easy to drive on. You go past picnic benches and a climbing rock. After driving through a few bends you come to a small clearing, at the forest hut Planinarska kuca Sveti Josip there is a nice barbecue area with wooden benches. In the next section of the route the track gets wider, you pass a quarry and drive through the dense forest. At the end the route leads downhill over slightly bumpy ground until you reach the town of Jadovno with a historical memorial. You return to the D 25 via Trnovac.
