In the Croatian hinterland at the height of Zadar, this 14 km tour takes you through a beautiful forest area. Some high mountains, with wide plains in between, characterize this area and allow for fantastic panoramic views.
The entry point is at Donji Lapac on the D 218. At the beginning you drive on a narrow road with a damaged tarmac. Past farms and pastures and meadows, you go up into the mountains. The road is lightly graveled and leads through a sharp bend, then continues winding into the shady forest. After reaching the summit, a plain follows and you reach the open air. The landscape is beautiful, with flowering meadows in untouched hilly landscape. There is a well at the side of the path. The route continues downhill past individual houses. In the next section, you go uphill again on a forest path, which is covered with turf. The ground becomes rockier and is peppered with rain holes. The last section offers fantastic views. The track is lovely and flat, then turns into a narrow tarmac road that leads to the D1, where the tour ends at Ondic.
Conditions, closures and tips — from members who drove here recently.
We drove along the track from Udbina. The road is closed fairly early on due to construction work. We suspect that the road is being paved and widened. Fortunately, we were able to bypass this section by taking a forest road on the right and rejoin the track a few kilometers further on.
