A great view even during the journey, but especially at the end point.
You drive into the campsite at the swing bridge in Osor and ask if you can drive through to Planinarska Luca. This is actually always permitted. If you are camping anyway, it would of course be nice to set up camp there.
The "road" leads from sea level to almost 270 meters on rough, stony, rocky ground. There are a number of steep sections and (very) tight bends with some considerable steps to overcome. The fabulous view from the hut at the destination, which is open during the season, is a reward. Then you go back the same way.
We could not find out whether the route leading south to the summit is permitted.

The gate at the campsite was open and a Passat also drove up the slope (a good 20 minutes). At the end of the route we drove further up to the top of the mountain and had lunch there. The route to the top is no problem at all with a 4x4 and there are 360° views at the top.
