A beautiful, varied route. Easy to drive, just a few potholes. A few branches were sticking out onto the road now that it’s fall, but it was still manageable. Unfortunately, there was no water in the river.

On the Krka River
Impressive waterfalls await you right at the start of this 14 km long dream route. It runs parallel to the D1 through a beautiful valley along the Krka River.
First you cross the Krka River in Kovacic on a bridge with huge round arches. A narrow tarmac road bordered by stone walls leads out of the town, along rock faces. Be sure to stop at the viewpoint of the Slap Krčić Knin waterfalls. The impressive waterfalls can be hiked across wooden bridges. The turquoise-blue pools offer a chance to cool off in the spray. There are benches here along the river. You continue on the road and you come to a wide gravel track surrounded by mixed forest that is easy to drive on. Always along the river, you follow the flat, slightly gravelled path uphill. Past farms and an old mill. There are wonderful picnic areas on the river bank as well as countless lagoons with beautiful swimming spots. The track winds its way up in curves. After a bridge you reach the ruins of dilapidated watermills, which are worth a look. You reach a green plateau. The surface of the track is a bit rockier here. A monument lies on a large meadow. Here you can enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of the mountains. Shortly afterwards you come to the well-developed D1, where the tour ends.

Easy gravel road, but unfortunately no bathing possibility, because the river has no water, only at the entrance a river rises and there is a great very cold bathing place. Afterwards there is a bathing spot at Vukovica vrilo, unfortunately no bathing but the Eye of Croatia is already there
