https://alpenrouten.de/Visentin-Col_point547.html Col Visentin is one of the highest peaks in the rather isolated Venetian Pre-Alps. The approach branches off the SP.35 in Longhere toward the north and winds—initially on asphalt, later partly on coarse gravel—in wide switchbacks up the steep southeast slope of the valley via Previdal and Borgo Olivi. Just below Monte Pezza (1,436 m), the Via del Col Visentin reaches nearly the level of the ridge and now runs as a high-altitude road. After another 4 km or so and a further climb of about 350 meters in elevation—finishing with several more hairpin turns—you reach the Rifugio “5º Artiglieria Alpina” at the summit of Col Visentin. The mountaintop offers a magnificent panoramic view that, on a clear day, stretches from the highest peaks of the Dolomites in the north all the way to Venice on the Adriatic coast in the south. To the east lies the slightly lower Monte Pizzoc (1,565 m). The trail continuing northeast along the ridge leads to the Rifugio Bristot and the mountain stations of several ski lifts at Monteaverghera (1,602 m). From there, the route descends via bumpy and, in places, very steep trails into Val del Gat and to SP.31. As far as is known, the route can only be legally driven from the south. Since 2021(?), the route has also only been accessible by vehicle up to Forcella Zoppèi at 1,417 meters; from there, the road is closed with a sign citing provincial law and a barrier. The summit itself is therefore no longer legally accessible by vehicle.

Col Visentin
This 33 km long tour leads up to the Col Visentin. You will be rewarded here with a breathtaking view of the Dolomites and all the way to the sea to Venice.
The entry point is the village of Longhere on the SP 35, easy to reach from the A27 and the SS 55. In the next section, continue over sharp hairpin bends through the sparse forest and along rugged rock faces. An interesting view point can be found at Casera Pian dei Grassi directly on the route. The vegetation becomes more sparse, the slopes are overgrown with isolated conifers, and the gravel road begins at the mountain ridge. It leads steadily uphill without side boundaries in serpentines and partly over coarse gravel. At the summit, the Refugio Col Visentin and a transmitter await you. Back to the SP 35, the last section leads downhill over a small hairpin bend rich tarmac road to the village of Revine. Above the village is the interesting sanctuary Oratorio di San Francesco di Paola, which can be visited after the tour. From here you can look out over the city and the beautiful lakes in the valley.
