As Lukas already mentioned, the gates need to be opened and closed. However, on our way out, we noticed that there is actually a no-entry sign at the Passstrasse, since the area has been designated a nature reserve since 2025.

Track to the Pass Arcu Correboi
The Arcu Correboi is a natural monument in the Gennargentu Mountains, its name means "Arch of Correboi". It is a spectacular rock arch in the Gennargentu Mountains that looks like a natural stone bridge, formed over millions of years by wind and weather. This was due to a mixture of physical and chemical weathering: water penetrated the rock and widened small cracks that slowly grew due to temperature fluctuations and frost in winter. Over time, this led to the formation of the characteristic arch.
A basically simple gravel tour, but spiced up with one or two challenges, leads up to the 1,246 meter high Arcu Correboi, which is also the namesake of the pass over which the SP 69, as the former main route, connects Vilanova Strisaili with Forni.
The start of the route is about 15 kilometers north of Villanova Strisaili. There, a decent gravel track winds its way relatively harmlessly for the first five kilometers along a nameless stream before it gets serious and starts to twist and turn up the western flank of the mountains east of the SS 389. At 1,240 meters above sea level, it takes a short break, gains momentum in a depression and crawls up to its peak at 1,280 meters. It gets narrower and rougher, and gullies and stones are not uncommon. Two easier kilometers downhill follow, then the end of the route comes into sight with the Arcu Correboi.

Route as described. We initially wanted to ride the trail from the pass down into the valley (in the opposite direction from what was described), but were deterred by a wooden gate blocking the access road (no “No Entry” signs, just a simple rope knot securing the gate). We then went to the actual starting point, from which the tour can be started without any problems. Shortly before the end, we had to open a simple pasture fence, but there was no sign there prohibiting passage either. Good to know: Our Disco3 has a height of about 2.10 m; in some places, we had slight contact with trees and branches overhead.
