A very nice route; the gravel road had just been graded when I rode it—easy to ride.

At Riu di San Giovanni
The Italians must have a particular fondness for Saint John. His name can be found all over the country. Mountains, rivers, churches, towns - the name San Giovanni is omnipresent. This is also the case with the river west of Olbia. This Riu di San Giovanni is the destination of a charming off-road tour that wonderfully combines driving and bathing fun.
The starting point is the SS 125 about ten kilometers north of Olbia. And just after one kilometer, you cross the river using a properly concreted ford. If you're already warm - there are plenty of beautiful places to swim in the area. Behind the river, the track curves easily for a while at a constant height before it climbs steeply for the next three kilometers. Tight bends, rough gravel, furrows and gullies make things exciting. At least the path is wide enough for larger vehicles. It reaches its highest point at 422 meters and one kilometer later finds a small road that leads down to the SS 427.
