Riu Baccu Longu
A varied off-road tour awaits you in the southeast of Sardinia near the town of Tertenia between the sea and the mountains. Varied because it follows a stream with numerous fords and also climbs a mountain. The whole thing takes place on consistently reasonable ground, has no major differences in altitude and is easy to drive in the dry season. It is different during the winter rainy period or immediately afterwards in spring - then the path is often decorated with deep gullies and water holes, and the fords are not to be trifled with either.
The start: You first drive east from Tertenia on asphalt towards the sea, then turn right onto the aforementioned track after about a kilometer. It climbs steeply for the first three kilometers. Then the turnoff to Monte Siddu appears. The one and a half kilometers to the 550 meter high summit can be driven comfortably and are worthwhile just for the view of the sea and mountains. The route reaches its culmination point at 360 meters and then descends more or less evenly down the valley. It closely follows the course of the Riu Baccu Longu and surprises with several fords. The surface alternates between fine and coarse gravel. Once you reach the asphalt of the SS 125, it is another 25 kilometers to the left to Villaputzu.
