The track is passable for a vehicle as large as mine up to the small bridge crossing the river. Beyond that, it is no longer passable, as the branches of the oak trees hang low over the path, mainly from above. Estimated maximum vehicle height: 3 m. Be sure to take a pair of secateurs with you.

Plateau and Canyonland
The Gorropu Gorge or Gola di Gorropu is one of the most impressive and deepest gorges in Sardinia. It lies in the heart of the Supramonte Mountains in the east of the island near Urzulei and is accessible via a hiking trail (three to four hours). The gorge is about five kilometers long and up to 500 meters deep. The good news: In order to enjoy the beauty and romance of this area, you don't necessarily have to have descended into the gorge. It is enough to take the track that runs west of the Gola di Gorropu first over a plateau and then leads down into a dry riverbed.
The starting point is the Passo Genna Croce on the SS 125 already mentioned. Above Urzulei, an easy-to-drive gravel track curves around a mountain ridge in a wide arc. It does this in a visually spectacular way with great views down into the valley. Once on the plateau, it swings west of the mountains towards the north. Slight differences in altitude, medium-sized gravel, wide roadway. The path plunges into a mostly dry riverbed, then curves uphill again, before finally descending to the hiking car park at the Gorropu Gorge.
