The Genna Ramene Pass lies northwest of Baunei, relatively inconspicuous and hidden in the hills of Ogliastra. Nestled between towering limestone cliffs and dense forests, this pass connects the island's hinterland with the coast. If you're looking for peace and solitude, you've come to the right place up here at an altitude of 580 meters. Most of the time, all you hear is the rustling of the wind, the calls of raptor birds in the sky and the distant ringing of the goats' bells grazing on the slopes.

From Genna Ramene, an easy forest track leads in an arc down to Triei. Its road is wide enough for larger vehicles, has a reasonable gravel surface and no difficult sections. After a short climb, it curves harmoniously downhill through a dense forest of holm and cork oaks to meet a small asphalt road at an altitude of around 250 meters. This ends two kilometers later in the pretty mountain village of Triei.
