With its many idyllic bays, the SP 71 coastal road in the south of Sardinia is considered a dream route. Despite all its beauty, you should still turn your gaze away from the coast every now and then and look towards the mountains. There are some very beautiful off-road routes there that are often forgotten because of their short length and lack of drama. For example, the one that leads from the Baia delle Ginestre, the Bay of Broom, up to the SS 195 to Teulada. It doesn't look that difficult on the map, but should not be underestimated. From sea level, it curves down over a 245-meter-high hill to Teulada. And all on medium to coarse gravel, garnished with stones and rocks. In Teulada, you shouldn't drive on straight away, but explore the pretty town on foot. And above all, have a coffee in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele.
