The Sinis peninsula is located in the west of Sardinia and is 18 kilometers long and 6 kilometers wide. To the north it is bordered by Capo Mannu, to the south by Capo San Marco. San Giovanni di Sinis is one of the oldest churches in Italy on the peninsula, and Tharros is the ancient ruins of a Punic city. There are also two Saracen towers to admire that the Genoese and Pisans built on the coasts of Sardinia to protect against pirate raids from North Africa. The visual highlight is definitely the white-grained sand beach of Is Arutas. It is tiny grains of quartz that give the beach its shimmer.
The tour, which leads in a large U around the southern half of the Sinis peninsula, takes in some of these sights and also provides a lot of off-road fun.

The route begins west of Cabras, meanders down to the sea, then follows the coast to leave it again at Mari Ermi. Wide road, fine to medium-coarse gravel, everything is easy to drive on, even with large vehicles. The beaches of Maimoni, Is Arutas and Mari Ermi offer swimming opportunities along the way. However, they are quite busy during the season because they are accessible via asphalt roads.
