The track remained drivable even as the rain set in. Several water crossings are not a problem. There is one spot where you’ll need to maneuver a bit. Be aware that the vegetation is extremely dense along large sections of the track and constantly comes into contact with the vehicle. This can cause damage to the paintwork.

Along the Rio Piscinas
From the Dune de Piscinas in the southwest of Sardinia, two tracks that are spectacular for driving and for seeing lead east towards Montevecchio: Along the Red Riu Mannu (see corresponding tour) and along the Rio Piscinas. The latter is the focus of the route discussed here.
It also starts near the picturesque Dune de Piscinas on the SP 66. For its entire length of almost ten kilometers, it follows the river bank, which leads to several crossings. Some are easy to master, some are difficult. Depending on how high the water is. In winter and spring, some passages can be impossible, but in summer and autumn, the route is easy to manage with an off-road vehicle.
What makes the track so challenging, apart from the fords, is its often very narrow road width, the dense vegetation on the sides and the gradients that should not be underestimated - after all, it winds its way up from 40 to 370 meters in altitude.
