The path up to the fort initially leads through a few hairpin bends and lightly wooded terrain. From the ruins of Foens Fortress you can once again enjoy the magnificent view. The fort can be visited. Afterwards, you can either drive over Monte Jafferau, but the route is only open on Wednesdays and Saturdays and is regularly checked, or through the Seguret tunnel into the valley. The ascent from Savoulx is closed and only open to local residents.

A beautiful and easy route via Forte Föens; we chose this route because we didn't want to take the ski slope up to Jafferau.

The road is now open again following the landslide; according to the sign, it is open from June 1 through September 30. On the Bardonecchia side, a sticky note indicates that the route may only be used on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. On the other side, the same sign is posted but without the note specifying the days of the week.
