As described, it was pretty wet and muddy where we were, which made it more challenging—but it was fun.

Passo Pian del Latte
The 30 km tour takes you through the impressive, remote, and mountainous landscape of Liguria, from the SP3 near Ponti to Montegrosso Pian Latte on the SP4.
Starting from the entry point on the SP3, the gravel track winds uphill through the forest. Passing a few isolated houses, the route reaches a plateau before re-entering the woods. A partially eroded side path leads to a traditional Ligurian alpine pasture. The next section of the track is characterized by an earthy surface mixed with loose stones.
A short detour leads to the Passo Pian del Latte, where you can enjoy stunning views at an elevation of nearly 1,800 meters. After this side trip, the route continues, transitioning from gravel to a clay-like surface. The track ends at a tunnel, the remarkable Galleria del Garezzo, a perfect spot to take a break and admire breathtaking views.
Heading back from this point, the final stretch of the route passes meadows and pastures on the way to the mountain village of Case Fascei. From here, a narrow paved road winds downhill to the village of Montegrosso Pian Latte. The tour concludes here, with several inviting spots to stop and enjoy local refreshments.
Latest reports
Conditions, closures and tips — from members who drove here recently.
Access from Ponti is challenging (loose stones, washed out). Numerous repaired sections further on, somewhat more challenging in the upper section of the route due to washed-out sections. Repair work is currently underway. After consultation with the construction works and a minute's wait, we could ride through.
The trail is still rideable, but very—and I mean very—challenging 😰. I’d almost call it a black trail. Today it was pretty washed out, with loose rocks, and quite narrow in some places. We rode alone and it was an adventure (the first part, at least). On the descent from the mountain, things got a little hairy a couple of times, but not as much as on the approach. It’s worth it and really pushes you. I’d say it’s medium-difficult to black! Have fun figuring it out!!! Best wishes
