Passo di Prale
A scenic 16 km route takes you to over 1,200 meters through the Ligurian mountains. From the coast near Imperia, drive along the SS28 to reach Moano.
The starting point of the tour is in the small village of Armo, not far from Moano. From there, winding narrow roads lead above the village to a wide, finely gravelled track. Along the way, you can enjoy sweeping views at lovely picnic spots or near a small chapel on the left-hand side.
A spur on the right branches off onto a slightly rougher gravel path, leading to the Bocchino di Semola summit. The final stretch to the highest point, the Passo di Prale, takes you over an earthy path with erosion and ruts. Surrounded by nature, this spot offers peaceful solitude, accompanied only by the soft hum of two wind turbines. Between Piedmont and Liguria, the mountains and the sea, the breathtaking panorama is unforgettable.
Following the route back, head toward Colle di Nava, stopping at the small San Bernardo Church. The hill of the same name is surrounded by expansive green meadows and pristine nature. From here, the track transitions to a paved section, passing a drinking water source, before rejoining the SS28 at Nava, marking the end of the route.
