A very beautiful and EASY trail through a deciduous forest. The climb is relatively steep, but the trail is well-maintained. The water channels have been recently cleared, so progress is slow. The descent to Onzo is now also well-maintained! The entire route is easy!

Monte Castellermo
This winding 8 km route along the Ligurian coast lies between the SP582 and SP453, which runs parallel to the coastline near Albenga.
From the SP453, the journey begins on an especially curvy road heading toward Onzo, then continues to the small village of Borgo. From there, a single-lane paved section leads on, following signs to Monte Castellermo. Once in the forest, the gravel track begins. The route ascends through numerous switchbacks, flanked by pastures on both sides, offering stunning views.
The trail reaches a picnic area, a perfect spot to rest. From here, a hike to the summit of Monte Castellermo is highly recommended. On clear days, the view from the two-part summit is spectacular, overlooking the Arroscia Valley and Pennavaire Valley. Below, there is a charming little chapel.
Continuing from the picnic area, the final part of the route descends gently over some bumpy tree roots before ending on the paved road at Onzo. From here, you can tackle the sharp curves again as you descend toward the coastal road.

https://alpenrouten.de/Onzo-Colla-d_point1617.html Although Colla d’Onzo is only accessible by motorcycle from the south (Onzo or Borgo), it is by no means a dead end —it’s more for people who aren’t afraid of unpaved roads and enjoy trails with “panoramic views.” The view offers a glimpse of the sea and the rocks of Castell’Ermo. If you like, you can walk from the pass in about 45 minutes to reach the main peak of Castell’Ermo, the Peso Grande (1,092 m), which naturally offers an even better view.
