This stunning 14 km route, featuring a mountain pass and extensive forested areas, is located in the Ligurian coastal region near Savona. Starting from Savona, take the SP29 to Altare and then continue on the SP5 toward Mallare.

The starting point of the route is the small village of Cadotto. A recommended stop for a meal is Il Cadotto, a classic family-run restaurant offering local traditions and hearty homemade cuisine—perfect for a convivial lunch. Behind a farmhouse, the trail begins, initially winding its way through a forested area with numerous switchbacks climbing up the mountain.
The Colla di San Giacomo Pass is reached quickly. After a clearing with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, the route continues along a wide forest path. The soft ground is marked by numerous washouts. Driving through a shady beech forest, the dusty trail gently descends.
The final part of the route includes a ford crossing, and the tour concludes in the village of Acque, from which the SP29 takes you back to the coast in approximately 13 km.
