Monte Festa
Nestled between the wide riverbed of the Tagliamento, a 10 km long spur route leads up to Monte Festa with the fort of the same name. From Lago di Cavazzo on the SR 512, which is easily accessible from the A 23. At the end of the village of Interneppo is the entry point to the gravel road. The first section of the route leads through dense forest, then wide views of the shimmering mountain lake in the valley and the imposing peaks open up. In the next section, the track continues uphill over many sharp hairpin bends, past abandoned ruins. The route ends below the fort, which is well worth seeing. A short walk along a small path through the deciduous forest leads to the buildings of the fortress, which occupies the entire summit. With the fantastic view down to the shimmering lake and up to snow-capped mountain peaks, you will be rewarded from the roof of the fortress. Back at the starting point, we recommend a rest on the shores of the wonderful Lago di Cavazzo with small idyllic bays and shallow clear water.

Right at the start, there was a "Road Closed" sign. However, at that fork in the road, I took the path to the right, which was also very nice. You come to a plateau at just under 1,200 meters, where you have a great view of the lake and can also see the Adriatic Sea
At the beginning of the road there is a closed sign. Unfortunately, I didn't drive any further because of this.
A very beautiful route that leads to a fortress. Take the time to walk a little further and enjoy the view. (A very beautiful route that leads to a fortress. Take the time to walk a little further and enjoy the view.)
The only question is whether you’re actually allowed in here🤪. (The only question is whether you’re actually allowed in here🤪)
A very scenic route, though it is now covered in coarse gravel with deep erosion gullies and heavy vegetation. It should only be attempted by experienced enduro and off-road riders.
