Both the route via Meyronnes (forest road) and the route via Tournoux (military road) have, like virtually all gravel roads in the Ubaye region, been marked with no-entry signs in recent years. This seems to be a growing trend in France, at least in the Alpine region.

Fort Supérieur de Roche-la-Croix
Meyronnes is located on the D 900 in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence region in southeastern France. From here, the tour begins to the Fort Supérieur, located just under 6 km away.
At the exit of Meyronnes, turn right off the D 900 and follow the sign "Roche la Croix." Initially, the route takes you uphill on a narrow, paved road before transitioning to a gravel path through the forest shortly afterward. At GPS coordinates 44.469565, 6.792557, the path forks. Going straight, you’ll reach the lower Fort Inférieur (1908m) after about a kilometer. This fort is partially underground, with the above-ground areas accessible, though caution is advised.
Returning to the fork, continue left uphill, partly over uneven, coarser gravel. After approximately 2 km, you'll arrive at the upper Fort Supérieur (2105m).
The Fort Supérieur is one of two impressive fortifications built between 1885 and 1900. The fort, expanded in 1930, overlooks the surrounding region and is surrounded by imposing walls. From here, you can enjoy breathtaking views.
Both the fort and its bunkers are open for independent exploration.

The problem seems to be the bridge, because it appears that the support pillars have been eroded.
Unfortunately, the entrance is blocked at the start with a "Route Barree" sign, but it looks like a temporary measure.
