Briançon is a picturesque town in the French Alps, located in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. As the highest town in Europe, it majestically sits at an altitude of 1,326 meters and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. The town, built as a fortress by Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban (1633 – 1707), is a popular starting point for outdoor activities. In addition to the fortress, the historic old town is also worth visiting.

The starting point of the approximately 6 km route is near the hospital. The road winds uphill on asphalt in serpentines. After entering the forest, you will encounter 15 hairpin turns. During this section, the road runs closely along a cliff face, while on the other side, the drop is vertical. You pass a few houses, and then the last 1.5 km to the viewpoint Croix de Toulouse are on gravel. From here, you get a fantastic view of Briançon with its fortifications.

If you can handle hairpin turns on a motorcycle, both on and off-road, the track isn't very difficult to ride. The black rating is likely due to the fact that the track is very narrow and has very tight turns, which make it more challenging for cars to navigate.
