This 7 km long challenging tour starts near the beautiful Lac de Serre-Poncon. The route leads uphill through numerous switchbacks, offering lovely views of the valley and the sparkling lake dotted with white sailboats.

Starting from Embrun on the N94, the road descends toward the water. At the foothills of the Durance River, you'll find picturesque small beaches and stunning spots for swimming, all set against a breathtaking mountain backdrop. Following the road along the lake, you pass campgrounds and several houses, eventually reaching a rough section. Here, you cross a riverbed and find a narrow track with washed-out terrain on the other side. The trail then steeply ascends through a pine forest, winding in a zigzag pattern. Dramatic, dark rock faces unfold along the way. After the forest, the route continues across clearings and ends at the D9. You can return to Embrun via the winding paved road.

A stop in the charming old town of Embrun is highly recommended. Colorful building facades, lovely squares with fountains, small shops, and cozy cafés make for a delightful atmosphere.

Very nice route, which is also suitable as an afternoon program due to its length. The angle of the embankment, stream crossing and deep water gullies just about worked without bumping into anything. All-wheel drive and both differential locks were necessary due to the minimal entanglement of a polecat.
