Col des Gùérins
Info: Start from the Moulin du Pied de la Poua. After 4 kilometers there is a barrier that is not always open.
The Col des Guérins, located in the Hautes Alpes region, lies southwest of Gap and connects the D944 and N85 roads. It stretches between the towns of Châteauneuf-d'Oze and Sigoyer. Particularly exciting is the west-facing ramp of the route, a gravel road that runs along the southern edge of the Montagne de Céuze.
The area is characterized by unspoiled nature, with sheep and marmots being the most common inhabitants. From here, a breathtaking view opens up of the imposing rock faces of the Céüse Mountains, as well as toward Provence.
A historical highlight of the route is the ruins of Châtillon-Le-Désert. This once-thriving village stood on a plateau beneath the western foothills of the Céüse Mountains, offering panoramic views of the Drouzet Valley. Today, only its remnants remain, bearing witness to its rich history.
