The Col d'Anelle connects Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage with Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée via a gravel track running parallel to the D2205.

The route begins just west of the village center of Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage. From there, the path branches left behind the center, crossing a stream and a small bridge before transitioning into a partially challenging gravel track. Upon leaving the valley, the trail reveals a remote and scenically captivating mountain landscape.

The northwest ramp of the route toward Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée gradually becomes more demanding. The high plateau and the Col d’Anelle, once summer grazing areas, offer a stunning panorama of the Tinée Valley and its striking peaks—an unforgettable experience for mountain landscape enthusiasts.

The southeast ramp is steeper and dramatic in parts, with sections of erosion and loose scree, particularly in the switchbacks, adding to the challenge. However, this ramp is equally rewarding with its scenic beauty.

According to recent reports from our editorial team, there are currently no closures on the southeastern side of the route.
