Beautiful scenery. Very varied. Probably impassable after heavy rain. 4x4 required at 3–4 key sections. Not suitable for 7.5-ton vehicles due to the width of the trail. Many overhanging branches on the sections where there is practically no local traffic. It took us 3.5 hours, including photo stops.

Tracks in frontier region
Landscape and culture intertwine here, creating a unique blend. The vegetation takes on a Mediterranean character with cork oaks, kermes oaks, and maquis shrubland. Alongside these, you’ll find Orthodox churches and Greek road signs. It’s no wonder the mood and atmosphere feel different—softer, more tranquil.
The same holds true for the offroad tour near the Greek border. The route follows a gravel track that is calm and easy to navigate, offering plenty of time to explore the many villages along the way and admire the occasional Orthodox church. Mountain stretches alternate with forested passages and scenic paths alongside streams. Offroad fun and the enjoyment of the landscape combine seamlessly on this tour.
From Gjirokastër, head south on the SH 4. About four kilometers past Jorgucat, a gravel track branches off to the right and climbs uphill. Initially in excellent condition, the track gradually deteriorates but remains easily passable, albeit at a slower pace. After roughly a dozen kilometers of decent gravel, the track meets the Pavllës Stream and follows its course. On the final stretch, the route leaves the stream, crosses a gentle rise, and connects to the asphalted SH 97 near Livadhja.
