After 7 km, a bridge crosses a tributary of the Drin. It’s in a rather precarious condition—at least for heavy vehicles. I wouldn’t recommend crossing it with anything larger than a Sprinter. I turned back.

In the valley of the Black Drin
The Drin is a river that originates as the Black Drin and White Drin in Macedonia and Kosovo, respectively. It merges in the Fierza Reservoir north of Kukës in Albania and flows approximately 280 kilometers to the Adriatic Sea. South of Kukës, a simple gravel track follows the course of the Black Drin for a while. This route is frequently used by locals and is therefore well-maintained. The highlight of this route is not its driving challenge but the stunning natural beauty of the Black Drin Valley.
The finely graveled track runs at varying elevations along the river, occasionally descending to the riverbank, where idyllic spots for overnight stays can be found. A unique feature of the journey is the series of single-lane steel bridges that frequently cross the Drin.
The trail begins two kilometers south of Kolesjan near the village of Domaj and ends in the village of Rreth Kale. From there, you can take the main road to the town of Peshkopi, about ten kilometers away.
